You wouldn't believe how many comments I get about that. :)

Det:

I think our only web site so far is...

www.killhorde.com/fightclub/roster/

It's literally just getting started. A handful of us from work who played on others servers already but consolidated. Plus my in-laws (Sugarpappy, Jaming) and some other people from that circle. Trainz has a rogue on there that is almost caught up too. Which is good for me because a rogue and druid (me) can do some cool things together.

So far we're most 22-23.

Hunter
Hunter
Druid
Shaman
Mage

I think Sugar and Trainz will catch up fast though so add:

Rogue
Warrior

Like EQ, you can never go wrong with a Priest. My druid plays nicely alongside a Priest too.

Priests in WoW are much more entertaining than EQ1 clerics. With talent builds they have some options like increased damage rather than increased healing. Priests don't med during fights. They generally don't want to blow all their mana on blasting, but it's socially acceptable to help out in that department.

Sugarpappy is filling a gaping hole in the tank department now. But I'm kind of the best option we've got for healers. Druids in WoW can shapeshift to be decent tanks, decent rogues, decent priests.. but master of none. They tend to be better at healing though.

PVP in WoW is not as bad as it sounds. You are safe in all the lowbie zones. Then around 20 you start getting a few quests that send you into the areas where you are fair game. Cannot kill other Horde, it's actually Realm vs. Realm and not PVP.

After 20, you will get ganked by higher levels. It happens. But it's rare that they stick around. With the Honor System, they don't lose anything for killing you, but they also gain nothing other than the roleplay aspects of killing the other team or maybe just to let off some steam. (As Alliance though, there is an 18-22ish zone that allows Horde to come munch on the Alliance lowbies at will.)

Around 30 you then get a lot of tools to survive. And you've closed the level gap so less resists. You'll still get trounced by an occassional level 60, but people under 40 you'll have a lot of options to escape.

PVP in WoW is very well done. Higher level rogues can still sneak up and kill you in a couple rounds. But when you're close to the same level, fights against players will take awhile. This allow for plenty of strategic thinking and trying new tactics.

It definitely doesn't feel like Quake and seems even more balanced and engaging than PVP in the other MMORPGs I've played. None of that "archer one-shots you for a mile away" stuff. Rogues can take people down fast but most just casters.. and the rogue has to get in very close.. moving targets take a rogue forever to catch up with and they usually give up.
